DIANA’S STORY
Jewelry Designer, Metalsmith, Gemologist, Jewelry Appraiser
“My jewelry is about the joy of creating and the sweetness of giving it to oneself or to a loved one.”
With decades of experience as a graduate gemologist, jewelry appraiser and hands-on metalsmith, Diana Widman not only has deep insight into what makes a stone valuable, she’s also an expert in sourcing and using rare and vibrant colored gemstones. She is known for pairing daring and elegant colors (you might never have thought of) with the finest quality construction – in 18KT, 22KT or silver.
Diana loves colored stones and searches for the best examples of each gem. Fittingly, she often owns a gemstone for a long time before incorporating it into a piece. The perfect “fit” is one of the things that makes her jewelry so unique.
She is particularly smitten with sapphires, tourmalines and garnets. And Tahitian pearls which range in a rainbow of soft elegant iridescent hues and are smashing set in gold or silver. But she will work with you to create a piece with the gemstones you love.
Always a fan of deepening her knowledge, Diana completed the Graduate Gemologist (GG) program at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). She is also an active participant in ongoing classes and seminars about gemstones, jewelry history, and industry trends.
Diana’s work has been featured in publications like Professional Jeweler, National Jeweler, American Style, Niche Magazine, Elle, Rappaport Magazine and GIA’s Gems & Gemology, Good Morning Tucson (ABC), ABC 7 News Chicago, the iFashion Network, USE Magazine Milan, and other media outlets that have showcased her jewelry.
